Alee Cat Visits LauderAle Brewery - Beer Tasting

 Nano-Brewery Experience
LauderAle is Southeast Florida's first and only nano-brewery.  Nano refers to the size of the batches, which are much smaller than micro-breweries. Nano-breweries are kept small intentionally and are an increasingly popular segment of the craft brewing culture.       LauderAle is off the beaten path, located in the warehouse district of Port Everglades near the cruise ships. I arrived with much curiosity not quite knowing what to expect.  As I walked up, I could hear Reggae music playing, a casual and inviting atmosphere with people gathered at the bar and tables enjoying pints with their friends.  Eager to join the fun I ordered a flight of beer.
 
Las Olas Lager:  A refreshing and smooth brew with a mellow citrus flavor
Smoke Stack Stout: This brew had a rich full-bodied flavor with the perfect amount of hops to give it a zest that was quite satisfying
Saison: A Belgium style brew that was smooth and light with an enjoyable spring and kick to it
Immigration IPA: This IPA brew was a delight! It was a perfect blend with balance and harmony that was just amazing.

I will definitely be going back to LauderAle soon to enjoy more of their fresh brews!

On my recent visit to Oahu, Hawaii, my friend Jason Morris got his first glimpse of an Alee Cat Drink Holster for men in waterproof nylon.  His first response was "That would be great for skateboarding."  Apparently when he's out skating he gets pretty thirsty.   I asked him to strap one on and try it out.  He seemed to really enjoy his new Drink Holster so I snapped some photos.

Flight of 4 Floridian Beers - Beer Tasting

Lunch Time Beer Sampling!

Yesterday I had lunch at the Parrot Lounge in Fort Lauderdale and was delighted to see "Flight of Beers" on their menu.  My bartender Greg assisted me in choosing 4 Floridian beers to sample.  I took notes on each one so I could share my experience with you.  

1. Funky Buddha Floridian: This was my favorite!  It had a smooth taste in which I could detect the citrus, and also aromas of banana and cloves.  It was delicious!

2. Cigar City Good Gourd: I really enjoyed this one.  Robust pumpkin flavor with cinnamon spice, a terrific seasonal brew. Yummy!

3. Funky Buddha Small Axe IPA: This brew really gets your taste bud's attention.  Full flavored with a zesty tropical burst of pineapple, orange and mango.  

4.  3 Daughters Beach Blonde Ale:  A very enjoyable brew!  Medium flavored that is smooth and has a hint of citrus.

I had a lot of fun sampling these Floridian brews and I am looking forward to my next flight!
